What Can I Say?

Another Quiz courtesy of the ubiquitous Raincoaster.

You Should Rule Venus

Venus is a mysterious, stormy planet – shrouded in a thick layer of clouds.

You are perfect to rule Venus, because you are quite emotional and volatile yourself.

Your emotions change as rapidly as the weather on Venus, and both you and the planet are incomprehensible to others.

While you are not a logical thinker, you are quite empathetic.

You can care for and understand others, but your emotions swirl too quickly to truly understand yourself.

Your Candy Heart Says “Get Real”

You’re a bit of a cynic when it comes to love.

You don’t lose your head, and hardly anyone penetrates your heart.

Your ideal Valentine’s Day date: is all about the person you’re seeing (with no mentions of v-day!)

Your flirting style: honest and even slightly sarcastic

What turns you off: romantic expectations and “greeting card” holidays

Why you’re hot: you don’t just play hard to get – you are hard to get

More Weirdness

When I tried to log onto Blogger, it kept telling me (despite my login info being in their little form things) that I needed to log into my Google account. I ended up going to my gmail login to get in here. Tongue Out (Angry)

I have been doing school work most of the day. I got up and was working on Stats at 6 am. Then, after Boy went to school, Bran and I went to bed again to catch some more Z’s. However, when the alarm went off at 11:30 for me to go to class, I was extremely reluctant to get out of bed. I’d been having some lovely dreams and was quite content to stay in bed.

However, being the good girl that I am,I got out of bed and got my stuff together (remembering my reading glasses this time – as well as my water), grabbed Bran’s bus pass and headed off to school for Criminology class.

The lecture was full of dry stuff, but in order to keep us all from going to sleep to the sound of the wind howling around the Arts tower (we’re on the 10th floor there), the prof was telling jokes and stories that related to his lecture. It was actually quite interesting. Happily there is no mid-term in it next week. That will be the week after, the week after next. Next week I have 3 mid-terms (yeah, Stats is one of them, can you tell?) then it’s Suicide Week aka Reading Week, and the mid-term is the week after that.

I’ve been working on Stats since 4:30 pm with a short supper break of soup and a couple of open face, canned turkey salad sandwiches. Then it was back to Stats. I’d like to have the assignment that is due next week either partly done or be ready to start it for tomorrow’s review class. So far I’m understanding everything and able to figure things out. I even figured out how to use Excel for medians and means so that I didn’t have to do that work. However, on the exam I’m going to have to do it all by hand. Nothing but her formula and hint sheet is allowed in for the exam, no other books.

That’s about it. It’s been a very mathematical day. Scary, huh?

Not Just Ordinary Irritation

That’s right, I’m not just ordinarily irritated. I’m longer term irritated. This has been going on since I changed over to the new template (whenever that was).

I can’t change my elements. The page loads up, and loads, and loads, and loads, ad nauseum. It never completes loading. This means that I can’t add new elements and, since it doesn’t get loaded, I can’t change the bottom element. The other template customizing tabs work just fine. I can change colours. I can alter the wording of the elements that are there currently (except for adding new elements or altering the bottom element).

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!Computer Hits Back

Today I slept in. I didn’t intend to. I doubt that Bran intended me to. However, that doesn’t change the fact that I did, indeed, sleep in. I got up at 10:10. That left me 35 minutes to shower, get dressed and get my school stuff ready to go. I was showered and ready to go out the door by 10:45 to get to school for my 11:30 class.

While I was at my desk endeavouring to get my shit together quickly (and not forget anything) I heard a rustle and a stir behind me. It was Bran, snoozing away on the couch. It was then that I discovered why I had overslept. Usually he wakes me before he leaves for class at 9:15. That wasn’t the case today. I woke him and asked if he was coming to school. He opted for snoozing more and I wandered off to class.

When I got into Penology I remembered that I was supposed to do an outline of my essay, if I was going to do one. It was due today, no extensions. I guess I’m going to be writing a 40% mid-term and a 60% final. Oh well. Such is life. I totally forgot about that this weekend while I was very busy snoozing and avoiding doing any work. It’s ok though. I’m pretty good at multiple choice tests and if I study (I’ve already started) hard enough, I’ll get a good mark.

I got home at 3 (the bus was late today), unloaded my books. Tali had made coffee and was about to make tuna ala her for putting on bread. She’s a joy! I poured myself some coffee and she made me toast with her tuna ala her. It was tangy and yummy and went great with coffee.

Bran changed the water in the fish tank. He took some of the old water out, rinsed out the filter sponges (not sponges per se, but close) and poured the water out. Then he filled the red pails with fresh water when he couldn’t find the water conditioner. You can’t add chlorinated water to a tank. Even a python (direct hose from sink to tank that is used for the super big tanks) has a place to put in water conditioner. So he called up Grace. He had stuff to give ther for her tank that we sold her and she gave him a small bottle of water conditioner when they went out for coffee.

So now the water is all changed, the weeds are reduced (some went to Grace) and the fish are swimming around all active like. The bronze cory was chasing one of the cychlids around. I don’t know which one though, but Bran found it amusing. We’ll be getting a few more corys because they like community more than being solo.

Some of the cychlids are marking their territory and seem to be displaying mating habits. I don’t know if we have a mix of males and females though. It’s quite possible that the mating indications and territory marking may all be in vain. It’s also quite possible that, if they do procreate, we’ll have ot get another tank. As it is I think the tank has too many territory entrenched fish. I guess we’ll find out.

That’s about it from here. It’s still winter. Shivering I’m going to go off and read other people’s lives and then stick my nost back into the Stats text.

Just One More

Laundry is done. It has been washed, dried, fluffed, and folded. My clothing has been put away. Boy’s clothing is with him, whether it’s put away is another question, but it was given to him. Some of Bran’s clothing is put away. I would’ve put it all away, but I don’t know where some of it goes. And last but not least, the towels are all washed, dryed, fluffed (oh, so wonderfully soft) and put away in the bathroom cupboard.

I can now shower and not have to worry about not having underwear.

It Just Pisses Me Off To No End

I’m sitting here in my chair playing solitaire and listening to Pure Enjoy, a radio station out of Belgium (easy listening, nothing scandalous or funky) and lo and behold along comes the old Whitney Houston song “I Will Always Love You” and I found that as I listened to her pure voice how much it pisses me off that she has this incredible talent and she just pisses it away with drugs and shit.

Here I am with not even a nano-of a nanofraction of the singing talent that she has, and she tosses it aside like it’s just a used kleenex.

Then I got to thinking of people like Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, and the rest who threw away their lives and their talents by fucking around with booze and drugs. They piss me off too. I may not like their music, but I’m not so stupid to not recognize their talents. Jimi is hailed as one of the greatest guitar players to have lived, Morrison was a song writer extraordinaire, and no one could sob out a blues song like Janis could.

It just pisses me off.

Laundry Day

Yep. Bran got the clothes all sorted and started the first three loads and since then I’ve taken over. Not only have I changed loads into the washer and dryer, but I’ve also folded the dried clothing. I put mine away and made Boy take his and put his away. Most of Bran’s will end up on top of my cabinet, but I put away his socks and t-shirts. I don’t know where he keeps anything else. Scary, no?

I’ve opened up my stats book and done some work. I’ve chatted with Enviroboi and with Brad. It’s always a pleasure to chat with the two of them. They’re such sweeties. Kissing Hand

Bran Hug 5 is working my shift and will be done at 430. Then he’s off to the drugstore to pick up my script and then come home. I wish I could think of something for supper that resembled something tasty. We have spagatini, couscous (I think), cabbage, carrots, a little bit of egg, bread, onions, garlic…not a whole lot to base a meal on.

I went to the Sony.ca site today and found out that my Walkman has to go in for service. It’s not playing things in the shuffle anymore like it should. Then again, either is the computer player despite of where it’s set. Stoopid thing. It couldn’t be something easy to change, like pressing the wrong button. No, it had to be something that it needed to be taken in for. Girl Fight

Well, it’s back to work for me.
