Sushi Rules!
I made the sushi today. I was up about noon, not long before Bran left for school to write his exam. Boy was happy to see what I was up to. I prepped the vegetables and then the shrimp and genuine-real-fake-crab-flavoured-pollack. Then I washed dishes, Boy put them away. At about 4 or so, I put the rice on to cook.
After I rolled the first 10 sheets of nori, Bran put on the second pot of rice for the last 10 sheets. I wasn’t done until just around 7. Since it’s the 20th Bran had to go out for coffee. This means that his meal was only partly eaten. Boy ate 35 pieces and a few of the ends that got cut off. I ate a lot of the cut off ends and 10 pieces of sushi.
Now Bran is out to coffee with the ex, Boy is playing whatever on-line game he plays and I’m watching Dateline – Dead Men Talking. It’s about the head pathologist in Kentucky, her job and the crimes that she gets clues from the bodies for. According to her, she lets the victims tell the story. So far it’s a good show. There’s not a whole lot different from other forensic shows with the fuzzing out of the bodies to keep from doing more harm to the victims’ families.
That’s it. It was a day full of prepping and making sushi. I did a fabulous job (as usual).
